My wish list for the getting-colder season of 2025

My wish list for the getting-colder season of 2025

During a blogging event organized by Judith Peters, called Blogtoberfest, I was presented with the idea of writing a “personal” blog post in which I list a kind of bucket list (a “to-want” list) for the next quarter and explain why.

Why I don’t write a to-want list

She invites us to write a “to-want” list instead of a “to-do” list, which is an exciting approach of rewiring our brain. I often talk about how crucial the words we use are because they affect how we actually feel. And yet there is a strange feeling. It’s as if we’re just sugarcoating the whole thing without changing anything at its root. However, the more I thought about the question, the “to-want” list became a “want” list and then a wish list. read more

Home is where my heart is

Home is where my heart is

I’ve been asking myself: When does a house become a home? – Well, I found the answer in an old folk song (probably from the Natives of North America, but I never verified it):

I’ve been travelling a day,
I’ve been travelling a year,
I’ve been travelling a lifetime,
to find my way home.

Home, is where my heart is
Home, is where my heart is
Home, is where my heart is,
My heart is my home.

My heart IS my home, but since I put so much of my heart into my little house, it is now also part of my home. My home also includes people I call family and dear friends, so I’ll probably never be truly homeless, but since I moved in, I do feel like I’ve come home. Being in my tiny house feels like a warm hug by a loved one. Not perfect by outside standards, but perfect in my eyes, including all its imperfections. read more

my theme: trial and error

As you might have noticed, I changed the theme of my blog, just to try out how you (and I) like it.

But not just the blog theme and design is a game of trial and error for me. everything I do in my life at the moment seems to follow this theme. It’s not always easy to follow this direction though, since it does take a lot of time and effort to try out new things. Also the level of motivation drops when some kind of error occurs. I’m slowly getting used to the process though, and so stumbling and falling down isn’t such a big deal any more. At least most of the time. read more

Power!

Power!

Just a short update: I finally have power in my container! During transport some connections were busted, and it took me forever to have it fixed. But now, there is no stopping me! It’s no “green” power yet, but that’s no priority for me at the moment. Soon some more updates will follow on my internal design, so stay tuned 🙂

Beginnings…

Beginnings…

Every story has a beginning somewhere. But if you want to identify it, you will rarely find an exact place or a definitive point in time. Since every life is intricately intertwined with the lives of others and with one’s own issues, there are usually no real beginnings, right? Based on this, the first entry in my blog is not a clear beginning, but rather a natural sequence of everything that has happened so far.

A next step. One of the steps that preceded this was quitting my job, completely turning my life upside down, taking a break from society, and getting off the hamster wheel. I moved back in with my parents and tried to figure out what it really is that I want to do, what inspires me. The meaning of my life. In the meantime, I stumbled back into the rat race – much sooner than I had expected. read more
