What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

All data you enter in contact forms (aside from Newsletter subscription) will be saved for the time of the correspondence, up until 6 months after the last contact. It will be only used for the content of this interaction.

The software Matomo uses this information to evaluate the use of the website, to create reports about the website-activities  for the website provider to offer additional services for the use of the website. This information remains on the server and will not be transfered to third parties. You can prevent the saving of the cookies through corresponding settings in the browser software. We do however point out, that some of the features of this website might not be able to be used properly. Through the use of this website you accept that we are allowed to process this data through the software Matomo in the way previously stated and for the previously stated purpose.

You have the possibility to subscribe to our newsletter through this website. For this, we need your e-mail adress and your statement that you accept the subscription.

As soon as you subscribe to the newsletter, you will receive an confirmation e-mail with a link to confirm your subscription.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link in the e-mail or sending an e-mail with the subject “unsubscribe” to . We will delete your data in connection with the newsletter-subscription right away.

Who we share your data with

Data is stored on the previously mentioned locations (the service provider all-inkl) as well as local storage, computers and phones used by the website provider. It will not be shared with any other third party if not explicitly allowed by the data provider.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
